I can't seem to get the date off my mind. October 1st, October 1st. It marches like a tiny soldier through my brain, commanding attention. This Thursday, judging will begin on a writing contest that I entered about 3 weeks ago. Three long weeks ago.

I feel pretty confident about the contest. It is not a huge prize, but anything is an improvement. Plus, I just love to write. Sometimes, I can't explain it, but I feel the piece I'm writing and I know it is right and good. Not bragging on myself for I truly believe the Lord gave me a gift to write and the love to do it. Either way, I can't wait to hear the results. Come on October 1st!
